Hair Care and Maintainance

Shampoo and Conditioning
Treat this hair like your own hair. Use good quality shampoo and conditioning products. Conditioning your hair is very important to keep it soft and manageable. When shampooing make sure your hair is not bunched up or piled on top of your head... This badly tangles hair. Instead of doing this, gently wash vertically in one direction only. We recommend using a deep conditioner on your Indian hair once per week, but avoid using oil or heavy styling products. Oil usually weighs the hair down. Avoid hair products that contain alcohol. Alcohol makes hair dry.
You can also use products like gel and hair spray to keep the curls in place, but make sure to wash your hair and not leave in these products in for a long time or your hair will appear limp and oily.

Shedding
Because the hair is attached to the weft you will experience some shedding. There are ways of avoiding maximum shedding.
When attaching the weft with a needle, it is recommended that you sew around the weft not through the weft. Never CUT ANY PART OF THE WEFT. If they are cut, they will shed. If you decide to cut the weft it is recommended to seal the weft with fabric glue (fraycheck) this will reduce excessive shedding, fabric glue can be found in any craft shop.

Morning and Night Care
We advise that you comb your hair every morning with a wide tooth comb or paddle brush. Gently brush your hair from the ends towards your scalp. Starting from the ends keeps the pressure off the weft area and is a good way to maintain the longevity of the extensions.

You must NEVER sleep on wet hair. Sleeping on wet hair is known to matte hair which makes it very difficult to keep them the way you want. Just make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to sleep and you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Heat Styling Product
This hair can be heat styled or straightened, though it is not recommended to chemically straighten curly hair products. We do recommend that if you plan to straighten this hair on a regular basis that you apply a thermal heat protectant to the Indian hair. Also use good quality straightening irons and curling rods.

Colouring
Colour your natural hair the desired colour before your extensions is applied. Your stylist will then colour match your extensions to your new colour to make your purchased hair look like the real thing. Highlights can even be added. If your roots need a touch-up before you need to change your extensions, play it safe and leave the colouring to your stylist. BLEACHING YOUR HAIR IS NOT RECOMMENDED. It is risky and uses harsh chemicals that can damage your hair.

We hope you enjoy the hair and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me anytime.
